Intensive Relapse-Prevention Group

Our intensive relapse-prevention group for adult men and women meets two evenings a week and follows a structured 12-week curriculum. Group sessions begin with education about the disease of addiction and the recovery process. The second hour is devoted to group processing.

Group participants will learn about the neurobiology of addiction, the stages of recovery, and the emotional aspects of addiction. Participants will learn how to identify and avoid relapse triggers and how to develop a personal 12-step recovery program and healthy coping skills.

Group processing provides an opportunity for individuals to share their recovery experiences and daily challenges in a safe, supportive and substance-free environment. The group format provides a balanced perspective that is useful for identifying defensive thought patterns, decisions and behaviors that can sabotage recovery efforts.

Our curriculum is structured so that participants may join at any time in the 12-week cycle. Open Door Recovery Center conducts random drug testing to ensure we maintain a safe, substance free-environment.

Our relapse-prevention support group meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
